Alie Garza, LCSW, is a compassionate and skilled clinician with extensive experience in mental health care. She is trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) and specializes in supporting individuals and families navigating anxiety, OCD, and related disorders. Her professional background includes developing and working in Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Partial Hospitalization (PHP), and Residential Programs in Oregon, Texas, and Colorado.

She joined In Focus Counseling as a contractor to support our vision with OCD for Families. Family is a big component of recovery and became an included part of our Intensive Outpatient Program for OCD. Alie is trained in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) and specializes in supporting individuals and families navigating anxiety, OCD, and related disorders. Her professional background includes developing and working in Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Partial Hospitalization (PHP), and Residential Programs in Oregon, Texas, and Colorado.

Alie’s expertise is deeply informed by her personal experience. Having lived with OCD, ADHD, Health Anxiety, and Panic Disorder from childhood, she understands the challenges of mental health conditions that often go misdiagnosed or untreated. She and her husband have also fostered teenagers experiencing housing instability, furthering her empathy and understanding of complex family dynamics.

Before focusing on OCD and anxiety-related disorders, Alie worked in crisis services, including:

Supervising a youth crisis line.

Providing mobile crisis response at the county level.

Working in youth residential settings with patients facing acute mental health challenges.

Alie takes a collaborative, strengths-based approach to therapy, empowering patients and families alike. She is trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and is a dedicated advocate with the International OCD Foundation.

Her blend of lived experience, professional training, and a commitment to creating a supportive therapeutic environment allows her to guide individuals and families toward resilience and growth.
