Carrie prides herself on making a positive impact in the community through working alongside her clients and being an active member of their healing journey. Any client working with Carrie can expect some aspect of entertainment throughout the session intermixed with a focus on realistic growth as Carrie works to find deeper meaning in your concerns through vulnerability, humor, and relatability. Therapy can still be purposeful and healing while also including fun into sessions, and Carrie consistently balances these parts to make your session and the work within it last well beyond the one hour time frame of the appointment. Carrie describes herself as a counselor best through her ability to relate with her clients through her own mental health journey, her self-proclaimed “mind blowing” approaches to treatment, and of course through her lively demeanor – that can be best illustrated through her fun and festive nails!
Carrie is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Motivational Interviewing (MI), as well as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), but she also values the use of existential theory, mindfulness, and various trauma-informed approaches in sessions. Carrie is also trained to work with addiction and similarly uses these approaches to combat substance or process addictions with her clients.
Carrie is determined to help you in building the ladder to begin climbing towards your goals because she recognizes that even if you feel you’ve hit rock bottom, there is no way but up.
