Emily Vinych, M.A., LPC is a licensed clinician who specializes in the treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and other anxiety-spectrum disorders including varying phobias and body focused repetitive behaviors BFRB’s. She is also experienced in helping adults with depression, transitional difficulties, and relationship problems.
Emily received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from North Dakota State University and went on to pursue her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Northwestern University. She focused her clinical training hours and post-degree hours working with adults and older adolescents experiencing varying degrees of anxiety and OCD, where she further solidified her passion for treating OCD and helping clients challenge the inevitable uncertainties of life. Emily has also gained a vast array of experience from working in varying levels of psychiatric care facilities including the Medical Center of Aurora and the Eating Recovery Center.
Emily uses cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), including exposure and response prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Emily’s integration of mindfulness helps clients have a different relationship with their anxiety and other range of difficult emotions to live a more present, values-driven life. Although she tends to operate out of these different modalities, Emily understands that each person’s therapeutic needs differ and therefore tailors her treatment accordingly for each client.
Emily believes that the first step to a successful therapy experience is a trusting therapeutic relationship and is passionate about helping her clients explore healthier perspectives, new ways of thinking, and learn to use different therapeutic techniques on their own. She is available for in-office or virtual telehealth appointments. To schedule an appointment with Emily, call (720) 295-9522 or Click Here
